The $699 Paperweight: Why the Humane AI Pin died

Sold to HP for parts and its services cut off. The AI Pin is officially a tech tragedy. Alex looks at what went wrong with the "phone killer."

RIP Humane: The AI Pin is officially dead

HP just bought the remains of Humane for $116 million—a fraction of what they wanted. If you bought one, congrats, you now own a very expensive piece of jewelry that does absolutely nothing.

The lesson here? AI can’t replace the phone in your pocket if it overheats just trying to set a timer. It was an ambitious dream, but the hardware just wasn’t there. Meta’s Ray-Bans won this round by being… well, useful.

Don’t expect a refund. Expect a “legacy user” discount on an HP printer instead.

Alex’s Take
Never buy the first version of “future tech” unless you like collecting paperweights. Ambition is great, but reliability pays the bills.
