Why Mickey Mouse is now an AI creation

Disney just invested $1 billion in OpenAI to bring Marvel and Pixar characters to Sora 2. Is this the end of traditional animation or just a high-tech collab?

Sora 2 is here, and it’s wearing Mickey ears

Disney just dropped a cool $1 billion into OpenAI. Why? Because they want Sora 2 to be the factory for their next generation of content. We’re talking Pixar-level quality at the click of a button.

I’ve seen the early Sora 2 clips, and the physics are way better than the 2024 version. But seeing a Marvel character generated by a prompt feels… different. It’s efficient, but does it have the ‘spark’?

Artists are worried, and honestly, they should be. When a billion-dollar studio decides AI is the future, the industry changes overnight.

Alex’s Take
The “magic” of Disney might soon just be a very expensive prompt. It’s a win for the bottom line, but a bummer for the soul of animation. Just me?
